Which swimming costume to choose for your body type ?

Finding the perfect swimming costume is no easy task ! With a wide range of cuts, shapes, colours and styles to choose from, there’s a lot to get lost in. So, if you want to find the swimming costume that best suits your body type, here are some tips.

Swimsuit tops

Thanks to the trend of mismatching, it is now possible to choose a swimsuit top that perfectly matches your body type. Here are a few tips to simplify your choice !

A-shaped figure

For an A shape, the idea is to highlight the upper body. So, don’t hesitate to go for a bandeau or push-up swimsuit top with thin straps. The idea is to draw the eye to your bust by shaping your head and shoulders. As for the colour, don't hesitate to go for light colours such as pastels or tropical prints, which are always on-trend. You can also choose ruffles or frills as well as crochet.

V-shaped figure

For a V-shaped body, you can reverse the pyramid trend in order to minimise your bust, by going for a maxi neckline ! We advise you to choose a push-up bikini top for a small bust or a bandeau style with thin straps for a fuller bust. As for colours, we recommend black and matt materials which absorb light and therefore attract the eye less.

H-shaped figure

To emphasise the femininity of an H-shaped figure, you should preferably opt for a bikini with a push-up top. Here again, you can go for an ultra-plunging neckline as well an array of materials that will enhance your bust. Prints, frills, ruffles, stripes... you’ll be spoilt for choice!

X-shaped figure

The advantage of an X-shaped figure is that you can easily enhance your cleavage. For example, padded swimsuits and an ultra-plunging neckline are the best choice for a small bust. For a fuller bust, there's nothing like a triangle for a perfect tan! As for the colours, we play with the size of the cup, choosing lighter colours to enhance the depth and darker colours to minimise.

O-shaped figure

An O-shaped figure is characterised by luscious curves covering the whole body. You can discreetly camouflage specific areas while highlighting your cleavage. So, don't hesitate to opt for a plunging maxi to accentuate your feminine figure. The must-have is an underwire push-up swimsuit top!

Swimsuit bottoms

For swimsuit bottoms, we have fun with the shape, as well as the colours and fabrics, adjusting them according to our figure.

A-shaped figure

If you wish to reduce the curves of your hips, there's nothing like a low-cut swimming costume bottom with a low waist. For colours, we turn to darker shades to lengthen your legs. On the other hand, shorties and cullote styles should be avoided.

V-shaped figure

Here, it's all about accentuating the size of your hips. So, play around with pastel colours, ruffles and fringes. In terms of materials, go for exotic or coloured prints and stripes to create an optical effect! A pair of low waist culottes or shorties will naturally bring balance to your figure.

H-shaped morphology

In keeping with the spirit of feminising the figure, we opt for a bikini bottom with a high waistline that will accentuate your waist. You can also play with ruffles for a terribly feminine, retro or glamorous look. On the other hand, low-cut swimsuits are to be avoided!

X-shaped figure

For swimwear that flatters an X-shaped figure, we recommend the low-cut bikini. Not only does it lengthen your legs, but it will also slim your waist. And if you ever need to cover up a few little hip complexes, you should know that high-waisted culottes will also suit you.

O-shaped figure

If you have a tummy complex, you can opt for high-waisted culottes in darker colours. Basic black culottes are ideal, especially if they’re not patterned. Because this is a mistake that should be avoided, especially stripes!

One-piece swimsuits

Sometimes glamorous, sometimes classic, the one-piece swimsuit is timeless and can be adapted to all body types !

A-shaped figure

Staying with the idea of bringing attention to your cleavage, don’t hesitate to opt for a one-piece swimsuit with an ultra-plunging V-neckline. The scarf shape may also suit you, as it reduces the width of your shoulders. In any case, opt for darker colours that will naturally hide the width of your hips.

V-shaped figure

If you have a V-shaped figure, opt for a one-piece swimsuit with very low cut pants and, above all, a full plunge at the level of your neckline. For a touch of glamour, simply add a raffia hat and you’re ready to go !

H-shaped figure

For H-shaped figures, we turn to the one-piece trikini swimsuit. By freeing up material around your waist, it will allow you to sculpt your figure to make it more feminine.

X-shaped figure

One big advantage of the X-shaped figure is that it suits almost all of the one-piece swimsuit trends ! The halter top, the monokini, the bustier, the plunging neckline, the trikini, the tankini... you’ll be spoilt for choice!

O-shaped figure

Finally, as far as curves are concerned, we camouflage our little complexes with a one-piece swimming costume to refine the figure around the waist and hips. On the other hand, light colours are avoided in favour of darker ones. Also read:How to choose men’s swimwear
